Calving Cameras in Roscommon & Sligo
Watch the calving pen live from the kitchen, the bed or the mart instead of trekking to the shed every two hours. Calving cameras supplied and fitted by Conor O'Brien, with night vision that shows you exactly what's happening, and a free site survey to start.
Fewer Lost Calves. A Lot More Sleep.
Every farmer knows the spring routine: out to the shed at midnight, again at two, again at four, and half the checks for nothing. A calving camera changes the season. One glance at your phone or the TV tells you whether she's started, whether she's progressing and whether you're needed, and the night vision is clear enough to see feet presented from the far side of the pen.
Catching one difficult calving because you saw it start pays for the camera on its own. Most farms around Roscommon and Sligo find they check the pen more often and walk to the shed far less.
Set Up for Your Shed, Not a Showroom
Sheds are dusty, damp and hard on kit, so the cameras COB Security fits are farm-grade Hikvision units: weatherproof housings, proper night vision and mounts positioned to see the whole pen, with pan and zoom where the layout needs it. Wi-Fi rarely reaches the shed on its own, and sorting that link back to the house is part of the job, not your problem.
- Live view on your phone, tablet or TV
- Night vision that covers the whole pen
- Pan, tilt & zoom options for bigger sheds
- Farm-grade weatherproof cameras and mounts
- Shed-to-house link sorted as part of the install
One System for the Whole Yard
Most calving camera installs get paired with a camera or two on the yard, the diesel tank or the machinery shed while the ladders are out. It all lands in the same app, so the same glance that checks the pen checks the yard. See CCTV installation for the full picture, or add security lighting while we're at it.
Calving Camera Questions
Before You Book a Survey.
Can I watch the calving camera away from the farm?
Yes. The camera is set up on your phone before the install is finished, so you can check the pen from the mart, a match or the far side of the country, not just from the house.
Will it work in a shed with no internet?
Usually, yes. Getting a reliable link from the shed back to the house broadband is part of the install, and there are options for yards where the distance or layout makes that tricky. It's exactly the kind of thing the free survey answers.
Is one camera enough for my calving pen?
For most pens, one well-positioned camera with zoom covers it. Bigger sheds or split pens sometimes take two. Conor will tell you straight on the survey rather than sell you extras you don't need.
